First IPA Canada All Member Communique #1

Dear members of IPA Canada, It is my hope that this message finds you and yours well in these uncertain times. IPA Canada is embarking on a number of new initiatives; one of them is this direct communication from the National level to you, the individual member. We believe that this will be a more effective and a more expedient way of informing you of newsletters, programs, educational and travel opportunities and discounts that apply nationally and internationally. This method of communication will be in addition to the local information that will be sent by your Region. We are working on updating our National membership list so messages from us only go to those who are current members and we have enlisted the aid of the Regional Membership coordinators to assist us with this. We are all current or former law enforcement practitioners and as such we count on you to be honest. If you are no longer a member of the IPA please contact us at membership@ipa-canada.org and we will take you off the contact list. If you haven’t renewed your membership please reconsider and if you are unsure whether you are a current member please contact your Regional representative and check. In the near future we will be sending out information regarding the adoption of new organizational Bylaws. Historically only your Regional representative voted on this issue, but going forward each eligible member will have a vote that will be anonymous and done through eVoting from the comfort of your own home. This puts the organization’s rules, regulations and future squarely where it belongs, with you, the member. We will also be calling for nominations for a Board of Directors, people who have the qualifications and the vision to take IPA Canada into the future. Again, the choice will be yours through a national eVote. IPA Canada se lance dans un certain nombre de nouvelles initiatives; l'un d'eux est cette communication directe provenant du niveau national vers vous, les membres individuel. Nous pensons que ce sera un moyen plus efficace et plus rapide de vous informer des bulletins, des programmes, des opportunités de formation et de voyage en plus de nos programmes d’affinité et de rabais aux niveaux national et international. Ce mode de communication s'ajoutera aux informations locales qui seront envoyées par votre Région. Nous travaillons à la mise à jour de notre liste nationale des membres afin que les messages de notre part ne soient adressés qu'aux membres actuels. Nous avons sollicité l'aide des coordonnateurs de membres régionaux pour nous aider. Nous sommes tous des praticiens actifs ou retraités sur l'application de la loi et à ce titre, nous comptons sur votre honnêteté. Si vous n'êtes plus membre de l'IPA, veuillez nous contacter à membership@ipa-canada.org et nous vous retirerons de la liste de contacts. Si vous n'avez pas renouvelé votre adhésion, veuillez reconsidérer et si vous ne savez pas si vous êtes un membre en règle, veuillez vérifier auprès de votre représentant régional. Dans un avenir rapproché, nous vous enverrons des informations concernant l'adoption de nos nouveaux statuts organisationnels. Historiquement, seul votre représentant régional votait sur cette question, mais à l'avenir, chaque membre éligible aura un vote qui sera anonyme et effectué par vote électronique dans le confort de votre foyer. Ce sera maintenant à vous les membres de voter sur les statuts et directives pour le futur de l’organisation Nous lancerons également un appel à candidatures pour l’élection d’un conseil d'administration national. Nous sommes à la recherche de personnes qui ont les qualifications et la vision nécessaires pour faire évoluer IPA Canada vers l'avenir.
