Dear Members, If you are a member in good standing and are eligible to vote I urge you to cast your vote today. Voter participation has risen from 28% in my last report to 38% as of today. The deadline to vote for the adoption of the new Bylaws is October 13th at 1800 hrs EDT. If you haven’t received your ballot, look in your Spam mail folder for a message from Simply Voting. The following three educational opportunities are available to the membership; Below is an invitation to the 2nd International Police Education Conference. This conference is run in conjunction with the IPA Gimborn learning facility, London Policing College and the British Council, and includes 6 ONLINE workshops between 5 – 27 October, each delivered from 9:00 – 10:30 BST. There is a nominal fee on registration. Further details on the timing and topics of each workshop can be found in the attached invitation and on the international website at: https://www.ipa-international.org/Events/2nd-international-police-education-conference/171385 The second is the Young Police Officers Seminar (YPOS) that will be held in Sri Lanka’s capital city Colombo, 19 – 24 March 2021. Currently there is a provision in our Directives to assist two chosen participants with a $250.00 bursary each for this event. This unique event is aimed at police officers aged 35 years and under, and the focus for this YPOS is ‘Countering Modern Terrorism’.
