IPA Music Party.jpg

Dear IPA friends,

The IEB have arranged a  virtual live DJ Christmas music party for Tuesday the 22nd of December 2020 – and we’re inviting every IPA member in the world to join us!

As per the attached poster the event will be hosted on a platform called ‘Twitch’ and participants can log-in via the attached link from 8pm (GMT) on Tuesday next. The event is free of charge and DJ Mark will be playing lots of Christmas tunes and may even play some of your requests. No special software is required or needs to be downloaded, just click on this link:

If you will be using a smartphone there is a free ‘Twitch’ App available on your App store which you can download in advance.

The DJ will have a green screen behind his decks and will have the IPA logo and some IPA pictures on display to celebrate IPA’s 70th Anniversary, so we’re asking everyone to log in and help us celebrate. There is no ‘talk’ function available, but participants can use the chat (text) function, so you can say hello and tell everybody where you’re listening from, or ask the DJ to play a special request. Sit and watch, or just have the music playing in the background – the choice is yours.

This could be the biggest IPA party ever, so please share the invitation with all your IPA friends via email, WhatsApp, social media – all they need is the above link and the date/time.

Looking forward to seeing you all on December 22nd at 8pm GMT.

It’s time to party!

Servo per Amikeco, and Merry Christmas.

We very much hope the program meets your interests and we can meet in 2021 in one way or another.

Feel free to download the new program: IBZ Seminar Programme 2021

You can register either online on or send an email to

IBZ Gimborn, are pleased to announce details of a new online seminar starting in September.

Each seminar will be on a different aspect of terrorism, so please check the details in the attachment to sign up for the one(s) that interests you the most.

The threat from terrorist violence is one of the biggest challenges to security policy since the end of WW2 and has grown into an international problem since the turn of the century. Operating on a world scale, Islamist terrorism has dominated discussions of security policy since 9/11. Even though extremists do not seek to achieve their political and social goals with murderous attacks on other people, they often use physical and psychological violence to intimidate and threaten dissenters.

The seminar looks at the concepts of detecting and preventing terrorism and extremism on the local level, on the financing of terror, and the possibility of the reemergence of terror in Northern Ireland and what Radicalisation means within the spectrum of politically motivated violence.

Overall, this is not a seminar on basic knowledge on terrorism and extremism. Allegedly, most of you already have information about these issues. Instead, with this online-seminar, we try to put some spotlights on newest trends, findings in terrorism and extremism and concepts of police to handle challenges and dangers in these matters.

Participation Fees:
👉 Non IPA Members: 59 €
👉 IPA Members: 29 €❗️❗️❗️

For participation please register here: 👇👇👇…/combatting-terrorism-and-vi…/346968

We ask IPA members to provide their IPA membership number and the IPA section they belong to.

➡️ Lecture 1/6 | Tuesday, 1 Sep, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm, CET
➡️ Lecture 2/6 | Thursday, 3 Sep, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm, CET
➡️ Lecture 3/6 | Tuesday, 8 Sep, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm, CET

On behalf of IBZ Gimborn and the Director René Kauffmann, please see below the following information:

In an effort to explore new ways to continue providing first-class eduction, IBZ Gimborn is now proud to offer its first online lecture by videocast, in collaboration with Henrik Andershed, Professor of Criminology and Psychology at the Örebro University, Sweden.

In his videocast, Henrik Andershed discusses what to expect in terms of crime development during the coronavirus pandemic restrictions. Should we expect some crimes to increase, and others to decrease? Furthermore, Professor Andershed suggests what we can do to prevent an increase in crime during these times of restrictions and isolation in our homes.

Link to the videocast:

IBZ Gimborn is currently also working on a webinar series on International Terrorism with 6 international speakers. The plan is to offer one session of around 40 minutes, plus discussions, per week.

A further webinar series with the police writers around David Lewis (Section UK), as well as a German webinar on retirement are also in the pipeline.

IBZ Gimborn hope that there will be a large uptake of this new service offered and look forward to seeing everyone in person in its beautiful castle, once IBZ Gimborn is open again.

IPA Radio Club.jpg

To celebrate 70 years of the International Police Association, German IPA-Radio-Club station has a specific call sign, DL7ØIPA, in 2020.

It would be a pleasure for us to have a rendezvous with many Hams all over the world, especially we would like to ask head members of IPA club stations to take part. We think that it will prove to be a good way to get know each other better and become more familiar with our colleagues and IPA friends.

Therefore, we would like to give the opportunity for QSO´s in CW and SSB, every Sunday, starting on the 2nd of August 2020 from 08:00 UTC a.m. until 10:00 UTC p.m. on QRG 7080 kHz +/- QRM and starting Thursday, the 06th of August 2020 from 06:00 UTC p.m. to 07:00 p.m. on 3680 kHz +/- QRM, followed by every Sunday/Thursday until the end of 2020. We will try, if the condx are ok, also to be qrv on 20m.

At the end, we will send QSL cards for confirmation of QSO´s on different bands, which can be used for diploma (e.g. Sherlock-Holmes-Awards, Dr. Watson-Trophy), but it will not be a usual contest type event. If you send a copy of your log to DC2WF (  you will receive a participant diploma.

IPA Italy.jpg

Dear friends,

I feel compelled to inform you that the situation regarding Coronavirus epidemic in Italy is very serious.

All citizens are involved to marginalize the spread of the infection, but my main thought goes to medical staff and Police Force and therefore to all the members of the Italian Section.

In the light of the above, in accordance with the members of the Central Commitee, I've arranged that all events are canceled or suspended until the end of the emergency situation that will be decided by the Italian Government.

Please inform all the IPA Sections that during this period, throughout Italy, it won't be possible to provide the usual assistance to members coming from abroad.

Thanks and best regards.

Diego Trolese

National President
